First UT Dallas Callier Prize Announced - Call for Nominations The UT Dallas/Callier Center announces the newly established academic and scientific award, The Callier Prize in Communication Disorders. The prize, which will include a $10,000 cash award, will be given annually to an individual selected by an ad hoc committee who has shown outstanding contributions to the fields of audiology, speech pathology or language pathology. As one of the leading facilities in the country in the advancement of
knowledge and treatment for hearing, speech and language disorders, the
Callier Center administration is establishing the prize to recognize and
reward individuals for their leadership in fostering scientific advances
and showing significant developments in the diagnosis and treatment of
communication disorders. UT Dallas’ School of Behavioral and Brain
Sciences, Dean Bert Moore and The Callier Center Executive Director, Dr.
Tom Campbell, will oversee the process of establishing and awarding the
prize. The prize winner will be honored during a conference planned and hosted by the Foundation for the Callier Center for Communication Disorders in Spring 2009. Invitations to the conference will be extended to local, state, national and international leaders in audiology/hearing science; public officials; philanthropic supporters; community leaders; and university officials.
